Assistive Technology at UCOL

 

Assistive Technology refers to a wide range of digital tools and specialised equipment that can enhance your learning experience and/or enables equitable access to information. These tools are often designed to support learners with a disability, neurodiversity, and accessibility needs.

UCOL currently offers several assistive technology tools for learners with additional support needs, including: 

  • Genio Notes (formerly called Glean) 
  • Helperbird Premium
  • Grammarly Premium
  • Microsoft Office 356 Accessibility Tools (e.g. Immersive Reader, Dictate)
  • Smartpens (e.g. C-Pen Reader)
  • Noise cancelling headphones
  • Other specialised equipment on a case-by-case basis (e.g. ergonomic keyboards, coloured overlays, Dictaphones)
